MAGMA Congratulates 2013 Lifetime Achievement Award Winners

The Mid America Gospel Music Association would like to congratulate Randy Barron and John Moody.  They were presented the association's Lifetime Achievement Award during the 14th Annual MAGMA Convention held at the Centene Center in Farmington, MO.

Randy Barron has been singing Gospel Music for 35 continuous years with one group, the Randy Barron Singers who changed their name to Heartfelt in the early 1990s.  He has also been involved in the promotion of Southern Gospel music with Gateway Productions and is a Charter Board Member of MAGMA as well as serving 2 years as vice president of the association and 5 years as president.

John Moody's career spans 7 decades. He began his musical career at age 4 and has been a part of many of the legendary groups in the midwest including, the Melody Makers Qt., the Victory Qt., and the Royal Sons.  He has influenced the careers of several prominent Southern Gospel artists including Neil and Phil Enloe of the Couriers Qt. and Harlan (Gene) Jones who would play piano for Coy Cook and the Senators and Jerry and the Singing Goffs.  He continues to travel with his wife Louise, preaching and singing throughout the midwest.
